چکیده

Abstract Background Malaria has high morbidity and mortality rates in some parts of tropical subtropical countries. Besides respiratory metabolic function, lung plays a role immune system. γδT cells have multiple functions producing cytokines chemokines, regulating the response by interacting with other cells. It remains unclear about mice infected malaria parasites. Methods Flow cytometry (FCM) was used to evaluate frequency effects on phenotype function B T Plasmodium yoelii -infected wild-type (WT) or γδTCR knockout (γδT KO) mice. Haematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining observe pathological changes lungs. Results The percentage absolute number increased after infection ( p < 0.01). More were expressing CD80, CD11b, PD-1 post-infection 0.05), while less CD34, CD62L, CD127 0.05). percentages IL-4 + , IL-5 IL-6 IL-21 IL-1α IL-17 but IFN-γ-expressing decreased 0.05) post-infection. lungs KO not obvious compared WT proportion CD3 numbers cells, CD4 CD8 exhibited no significant difference surface molecular expression > While, There total, CD69 ICOS CD80 between Conclusions content, phenotype, C57BL/6 changed infection. contribute cell progress

In vivo CD8+ T Cell Dynamics in the Liver of Plasmodium yoelii Immunized and Infected Mice

Plasmodium falciparum malaria remains one of the most serious health problems globally and a protective malaria vaccine is desperately needed. Vaccination with attenuated parasites elicits multiple cellular effector mechanisms that lead to Plasmodium liver stage elimination. While granule-mediated cytotoxicity requires contact between CD8+ effector T cells and infected hepatocytes, cytokine sec...

In vivo splenic clearance correlates with in vitro deformability of red blood cells from Plasmodium yoelii-infected mice.

Recent experimental and clinical studies suggest a crucial role of mechanical splenic filtration in the host's defense against malaria parasites. Subtle changes in red blood cell (RBC) deformability, caused by infection or drug treatment, could influence the pathophysiological outcome. However, in vitro deformability measurements have not been directly linked in vivo with the splenic clearance ...

Antimalarial antibodies of the immunoglobulin G2a isotype modulate parasitemias in mice infected with Plasmodium yoelii.

Previous studies have demonstrated the importance of antibodies in mediating immunity to malaria, but the relative contribution of the different immunoglobulin isotypes has not been assessed. In this study, hyperimmune plasma was generated against Plasmodium yoelii and separated by protein A-Sepharose chromatography into fractions containing immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1), IgG2a, IgG2b, or IgG3 antib...

Exosomes from Plasmodium yoelii-Infected Reticulocytes Protect Mice from Lethal Infections

Exosomes are 30-100-nm membrane vesicles of endocytic origin that are released after the fusion of multivesicular bodies (MVBs) with the plasma membrane. While initial studies suggested that the role of exosomes was limited to the removal of proteins during the maturation of reticulocytes to erythrocytes, recent studies indicate that they are produced by different types of cells and are involve...

Antimalarial and Reno-protective Potentials of Combined Stem Bark Extracts of Khaya grandifoliola and Enantia chlorantha in Plasmodium Infected Mice

Background: Malaria is a worldwide threat, which affects millions of people. Although several antimalarial has been reported, they are either not effective or toxic. This study evaluated the antimalarial efficacy and safety of stem bark aqueous extracts of Khaya grandifoliola (KG) and Enantia chlorantha (EC) in Plasmodium berghie (NK65S) infected Swiss mice. Methods: Forty-two animals were gro...
